More than five hundred years ago, in 1492, there were Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain. They made a decree saying that Jewish people had to either become Christians or leave Spain. Many Jews left Spain and went to Portugal, hoping to practice their Judaism freely there. But, five years later, Portugal made the same decree as Spain!
